Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. As a young girl of just five and moved to Oxfordshire and attended her first Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing, dancing and acting. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach and school productions when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film was also the most successful film in 2001. The opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. Critics have praised both the film and the performance by three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
